Today I want to introduce everyone to Glary Utilities. Glary Utilities is an all-in-one utility that will optimize, clean and boost the speed of your computer, protect your privacy and security, block spyware, trojans, adware, etc, and fix certain application errors. Glary Utilities can be downloaded from Glary Utilities.
Glary comes with a free and paid version. The free version fits all my needs so I don’t see the need to buy the program. Glary has a nice looking interface that is easy to navigate.
Glary Utilities has four different tabs, Status, 1-Click Maintenance, Modules, and Menu. The status tab allows the user to check for updates, displays license status, and auto care settings. By default, the auto care settings are disabled and can be changed in the menu tab.
1-Click Maintenance allows the user to use six of Glary Utilities modules at one time instead of having to use them one by one. These modules are the registry cleaner, shortcut fixer, startup manager, temporary files cleaner, tracks eraser, and spyware remover. After Glary scans the computer, it will display anything it finds to be unnecessary. From here, the user can look at what Glary found and if there is something that the user thinks should stay, they can uncheck that item, and it won’t be deleted. The total scan and removal of the items took approximately 4:21.
The Modules tab allows the user to access the different modules to run them individually. The Cleanup & Repair module allows the user to use the disk cleaner, registry cleaner, shortcut fixer, and uninstall manager. Optimize & Improve has the startup manager, memory optimizer, context menu manager, and registry defrag. Privacy & Security allows the user to access the tracks eraser, file shredder, file undelete, and file encrypter and decrypter. System tools allow access to the process manager, Internet Explorer assistant, and Windows standard tools.
The Menu tab is where Glary Utilities settings are, help, FAQ, Skins, and Restore Center. One drawback to Glary Utilities is it comes bundled with the Ask toolbar. I personally dislike Ask and anything that has to do with Ask.
Overall, Glary Utilities is a great free all-in-one tool that I highly recommend. It has many functions and I didn’t want to go too far in depth because this post would be extremely long. If you feel I didn’t answer your questions or I missed something, please feel free to leave a comment.
